This post is especially for all the girls that follow this page, here is some inspiration for YOU.
I had the pleasure to interview Sophia Thiel, upcoming fitness model.
The last 2 years she has been on an amazing transformation journey, one that was very successful!
1. Hey Sophia, can you tell us something more about you?
My name is Sophia Thiel, I am 19 years old, and I come from Bavaria, Germany. I have been working out for 1.5 years now. Before my drastic body change I was chubby and ate just about whatever I wanted.
2. What got you started in the first place?
I was always unhappy with my body and felt very uncomfortable, but I never had the right knowledge about how to actually change my body and get in shape. I met a boy in my school (who later ended up becoming my boyfriend) who introduced me to weightlifting and proper nutrition. Bodybuilding is now my passion, and I give it everything that I have.
I think my biggest motivation is how much I’ve progressed. I love the feeling of getting stronger and seeing my body change.
4. For how long are you working out by now?
I used to play a lot of tennis but I quit that in order to pursue weightlifting in December 2012. At that point in my life, I didn’t knew too much about nutrition so I didn’t start to see huge gains until I got my diet in check, about half a year later.
5. What do you love most about your body?
I never really liked my cheeks because I always stored a lot of fat in that area and felt like a had a chubby face. But now, I’ve come to appreciate them more because they’ve allowed me to retain a more feminine appearance while still having a low body fat percentage. It’s Something that many females struggle with when they’re cutting.
6. Can you give us an overlook of what a day in your life looks like? (training, meal prep…)
I start my day with 15-20 minutes of cardio before my breakfast to speed up my digestion and metabolism. Then, I usually workout in the afternoon for 1.5 hours and prepare my meals for the following day before going to bed.
7. What kind of diet are you currently on?
I am on a high-protein, medium-carb, and low-fat diet. Percentage-wise, it’s roughly 50% protein, 30% carb, and 20% fat.
I think as a fitness model it’s critical to have both confidence as well as good charisma. Having these attributes helps motivate other more effectively and represents the sport the best.
9. What is your biggest achievement so far?
My first competition is still 3 weeks away, so I don’t have any formal accomplishments yet, but I’d say for me, my biggest achievement so far is my overall body transformation up until this point.
10. What are you goals? both long and short-term?
My biggest goal is to show other girls who are unhappy with their bodies how they too can transform themselves. Otherwise, I also hope to become successful in the figure or physique class down the line.
11. To end this interview, what tips would you give others that are just starting out?
My two biggest tips would be to do this sport for yourself and nobody else, and don’t just rely on numbers. Bodybuilding after all is about how you look, and you’re not going to get that from just a scale.
Thank you for this awe-inspiring interview, I’m sure this will help other people who are starting out on their own fitness journey.
